The Road Trip and the Cell Phone

My parents, 88 yr old Dad, 85 Yr old Mom, and my 65 yr old Sister drove to Oklahoma on a road trip. They made it in 30 hours. Whew! That was really fast for that group. But they got there OK.

Before they left I put another Cell phone acct on mine, so they would have a phone in case of emergencies. They or my sister have never had a cell phone, and they had it about a month before they left so they could get used to it and how to use it. All I wanted them to do was be able to DIAL anyone they needed too, like they have been doing at home for YEARS, and be able to answer it when it RANG, but my mistake was to save money and give them my old flip phone. Wrong! Guess why? Yep, you got it, Buttons on the side that turn the volume up or down or to silent or vibrate and are easy to push when you are not use to them being there in the way.......

So it's been an interesting time to say the least. They are leaving to come home on Wednesday. Hopefully they will not have to use the phone much.

Can't we have flip phones without side pushy buttons? I had to have my Razr upgraded this weekend because of...........................you guessed it. Verizon finally figured that the side buttons were a pain and developed a way for them not to be pushed accidently when the phone is closed. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
