Our death can be very near
Last week on Friday one of our drivers had a very serious reaction to some BP medication she was taking and collapsed at work. She was not alone and the driver that was with her got a Supervisor to her quickly. She had a very faint pulse and so he began giving her CPR and heart massage. When the paramedics arrived they continued CPR and told us that the Supervisor kept her alive while they were on the way. She was taken to the hospital and is still there today. She is better, but they are still conducting tests to eliminate other possible causes for this type of reaction. Death can be very near and we are not aware.......Now to the rest of the story, Paul Harvey..........
On Sunday, the drivers were scheduled to bid and because this driver could not attend and she had not put in a proxy beforehand, a union shop steward bid for her, which was OK......until the other shop stewards came in and found out. That caused a large upset and the bid was canceled, until further notice. At no time was anyone concerned for this driver's health, their only concern was if she wasn't allowed to bid that they would get a chance at a better schedule, because she did not have a date to return to work. They never thought that it could have been as if a driver was on the way to bid and had an accident and was taken to the hospital, unable to bid, the union would choose a schedule for them. That is what the union is suppose to do, and did do in this case, but was told they did it wrong by other union members, and that canceled the whole thing, after drivers canceled plans for Sunday to be present. They believe she will never return to work, but I believe otherwise.
It is with a saddened heart that I have to work with these employees. That's why I hate my job.
